TUS Eligibility: Who Can Apply?
Eligibility Criteria
- Registration: Must be a Micro or Small enterprise registered on the Udyam Registration portal (Medium enterprises are not covered under TUS).
- Existing unit: TUS is for units already running production — it is not a start-up capital scheme.
- Project proposal: A detailed proposal explaining why the technology upgrade is needed, the expected benefits, and how the unit will sustain the new equipment.
- Statutory compliance: The unit must be compliant with applicable environmental and labour laws.
- Sector: Both manufacturing and service-sector MSMEs are covered.
There is no separate age, domicile, or education requirement — eligibility is about the business, not the owner’s personal profile.
Are Medium enterprises eligible for TUS?
No, TUS is restricted to Micro and Small enterprises. Medium enterprises are not covered under this scheme.
Can a brand-new unit that hasn’t started production yet apply?
TUS is meant for existing units upgrading their technology, not for setting up a new unit from scratch. If you haven’t started production, look at capital-subsidy or a start-up loan scheme instead.
