Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?

The law targets 90 days; in practice it can take longer due to the load on councils. Even so, it's much faster than civil court.

Can the buyer show the interest as an expense?

No โ€” under the MSMED Act, this interest is not tax-deductible for the buyer. That's what keeps pressure on buyers to settle.
