Frequently Asked Questions

What does it aim at?

Doubling agri exports from UP through cluster-based development of identified crops and districts.

What are agri export clusters?

Notified district-crop combinations (e.g., mango, potato, basmati, mentha, banana, vegetables) with focused infrastructure, aggregation and certification support.

Who can apply?

Farmer Producer Organisations, cooperatives, exporters, pack-house and irradiation facility developers, and cluster-level CFC operators.

What incentives are offered?

Assistance for pack houses, integrated pack houses, ripening chambers, cold chain, laboratory and certification facilities, freight support for agri exports, and cluster development.

How does this differ from the Export Promotion Policy 2025–30?

This one is crop and cluster specific and is administered by the Agriculture Department; the Export Promotion Policy is generic and administered by the Export Promotion Bureau. Overlapping heads must not be double-claimed.

Does APEDA registration matter?

Yes — for most agri export categories APEDA registration is required, and APEDA schemes converge with the state's.

What is the role of the DEPC?

The District Export Action Plan integrates agri export clusters; the DEPC is the district coordination forum.

What is the biggest practical constraint?

Phytosanitary and residue compliance for EU/US markets. Point exporters to accredited testing labs early.
