What is the Scheme?

The Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy 2020 was introduced to make the state a leading hub for electronics manufacturing — targeting ₹40,000 crore in investment and around 4 lakh jobs. It offers subsidy on Fixed Capital Investment (FCI), interest subsidy, and stamp duty exemption.

How Much Money Will You Get?

Investment LevelCapital Subsidy
Investment up to ₹200 Cr15% of FCI, capped at ₹10 Cr
Larger/anchor investments (with infrastructure contribution)Additional subsidy — up to ₹250 Cr total (case-by-case)
Semiconductor/specified units (in designated areas)Up to 75% subsidy on land

On top of this, there is a 5% interest subsidy on loans (capped at ₹1 crore/year), and stamp duty exemption on land (100% on the first transaction, 50% on the second).

Please verify: investment level, subsidy rate, and conditions for special categories (semiconductor, etc.) can vary case-by-case — confirm with the official policy document and Invest UP.

Eligibility

How to Apply

  1. Register the project on the Nivesh Mitra portal
  2. Apply with documents for FCI, land, and loan
  3. File the claim within the prescribed timeline after commercial production begins
  4. Payment follows verification and committee approval

Biggest Mistakes to Avoid

Miscalculating FCI (including land when it's treated separately under the rules), asking for the stamp duty exemption after registry (too late by then), and not meeting the special conditions for semiconductor/specified categories are the biggest pitfalls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a small electronics MSME unit also get this subsidy?

Yes, this policy is sector-specific (electronics), not size-specific — but for smaller units it can be worth comparing against the general capital subsidy under the UP MSME Policy (see the Capital Subsidy guide).

Are there separate rules for semiconductor units?

Yes, semiconductor/specified manufacturing units in designated areas may get special benefits like up to 75% additional subsidy on land — check the eligibility conditions separately.
