Frequently Asked Questions

What is covered?

IT and ITeS units, IT parks, IT cities, BPO/KPO operations, and shared services.

What is the IT City concept?

The state has committed to developing an IT City in each of the four regions — Purvanchal, Paschimanchal, Madhyanchal and Bundelkhand — and IT Parks in each of the 18 administrative divisions.

What does a developer get?

A subsidy of 25% or up to ₹20 crore for setting up an IT Park, and 25% or up to ₹100 crore for developing an IT City, plus up to 100% stamp duty exemption. Verify current caps against the notified GO.

What does an IT/ITeS unit get?

Capital and interest subsidy, stamp duty exemption, EPF reimbursement, power tariff relief, and employment-linked incentives, with enhanced rates for employing local youth.

Are there special provisions for employing UP youth?

Yes — the policy expressly links enhanced benefits to employing local youth.

Does this cover data centres?

No — data centres have their own policy (Data Centre Policy 2026). Do not process a data centre claim under the IT policy.

Does it cover GCCs?

GCCs meeting the GCC Policy 2024 criteria should route through that policy; smaller captive units may fall under IT/ITeS.

Who administers it?

IT & Electronics Department, with UPDESCO as implementing agency.

What is the relevance for Noida?

Noida and Greater Noida are the state's largest IT/ITeS employment base; the binding constraint is grade-A office supply, which the Private Business Park Scheme 2025 is designed to address.
