Frequently Asked Questions

What replaced what?

It supersedes the UP Export Promotion Policy 2020–25. It was approved by Cabinet alongside the Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025.

Who is eligible?

Exporters with a valid IEC and a unit located in UP, export clusters, CFC operators, and in some heads, first-time exporters.

What are the main heads?

Freight reimbursement; market development assistance for participation in international trade fairs and buyer-seller meets; ECGC premium reimbursement; reimbursement of international certification and product testing costs; support for common facility centres and testing labs in clusters; and support for warehousing and gateway infrastructure near ports.

Is there support for air freight?

Air freight assistance is available for notified perishable and high-value categories; confirm the current schedule.

What does the First Amendment change?

Amendments typically revise rates, caps, eligible categories and claim procedure. Always read the amendment GO alongside the base policy — several field rejections arise from applying base-policy rates after amendment.

How does it interact with ODOP?

ODOP exporters get priority and, in some heads, enhanced rates.

Does it interact with RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance Authorisation?

Those are Central schemes administered by DGFT; state benefits are additional and administered separately. There is no set-off between them.

Who administers it?

The Export Promotion Bureau, under the MSME & Export Promotion Department, with district-level facilitation through DIEPC and the District Export Promotion Committee (DEPC).

What is the DEPC?

The District Export Promotion Committee, chaired by the District Magistrate, which prepares and monitors the District Export Action Plan — the main district-level instrument for export facilitation.

What is the most common claim error?

Filing freight claims without matching shipping bill, e-BRC and GST return data. Insist on reconciliation before submission.
